Swami Pritam Muni was born on 14th February, 1977 at Sarsan Village in the then Panchmahals District of Gujarat, India. His childhood pre-sannyas name was  Bharat Rana. Though not much inclined towards the usual academic pursuits, he did go through the process of receiving a formal school and college education from institutions in Panch Mahals District, more to keep his parents happy than due to any real interest in studies. His nature leaned more towards spiritual pursuits with the result that he was well versed in the Puranas and other Scriptures of Sanatan Dharma and other major world religions by the time he reached his youth. He had a particular bent towards the celebration of the many religious festivals that mark the Indian annual calendar and rendered active assistance to the community in celebrating them. He organized spiritual seminars and weekly cultural gatherings and formed a group called Mitra Vrund at Kakanpur for promoting spiritual and cultural activities among children.

He had an early desire to turn renunciate and take sannyas. However, again, to keep his parents happy, he briefly took up employment as a chemist in a pharmaceuticals firm, switching after nine months to a teaching job in a school. His longing for sannyas was genuine and deep rooted. Towards this end, he first left home in 1989. In the course of this venture he spent a night in a Durga temple. In the course of his meditation that night two great yogis appeared before him in their subtle bodies. A discussion followed between the two concerning him and eventually one of them assumed responsibility for his welfare. Conferring their blessings on him, both then disappeared. Later, he had  many similar divine experiences. He returned home in between but again left home in 1993 and took himself to the sacred Girnar mountain region of Saurashtra. Yet once more he returned home, determined to renounce the world in a way that was proper, that is, with the permission of his parents. During the ten years he also wandered the forests of Mount Abu, the Gir and the Himalayas and the banks of the holy rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Narmada for the solitude necessary for his spiritual practice. The period of his spiritual practice was not  without its dangers but he had the protection of Lord Siva in whose care he had placed himself.

In 2003 his parents agreed to release him for the renunciant’s life and he left home on 27th Nov 2003 with their blessings. Before this, in May 1999,  he had taken mantra initiation from Swami Rajashri Muni followed by Sannyas initiation from Sucharit Muni, a disciple of Swami Kripalvanand, on 16th Feb 2004. After taking sannyas he stayed at Dehra Dun (May 2004 to July 2005) before moving to Kanjetha on the banks of the Narmada. He built an ashram there and formed the Pritam Foundation Trust. On 12th December 2007 he formed another trust at Noida, named “Pritam International Foundation” Trust. The foundation has been engaged in the service of the community in various ways. In May 2008, he formed the Omkar Ashram at Dehra Dun. Later, in January 2009, he formed the “Pritam Universal Foundation”. The aim of this institution is the worldwide dissemination of moral, cultural and ethical values of Sanatan Dharm and to serve the community.

On 27th February, 2009 he took Sannyas initiation from Swami Rajarshi Muni. This is a landmark event in the history of the lineage. For, with the return of Swami Rajarshi Muniji to complete secluded sadhana, the countless disciples felt the absence of a spiritual mentor and the work of spiritual and cultural resurgence the want of a guide and spearhead. At this juncture, in the words of Swami Rajarshi Muniji, “Lord Lakulish sent Swami Pritam Muni to carry on the work of the cultural resurgence campaign”. Swami Rajarshi Muni  has empowered him to confer certain classes of initiation in respect of the Nivritty wing and all classes of initiation in respect of the Pravritty wing. He has also authorized him to assume all powers and responsibilities in respect of the cultural reawakening campaign commanded to his lineage by Lord Lakulish. On 6th August 2009, he was appointed a Trustee and Vice President in Life Mission with full authority to spearhead the campaign.

Swami Pritam Muni has pledged himself to devotedly carrying out his Guru’s command to lead and carry forward the campaign. Making the Lord’s ‘Shiv Sankalp’ his own, he is firmly determined to carry the campaign to all places wherever human society exists, whether the States of India or abroad. Blessed with the grace of both Lord Lakulish and his Guru Swami Rajarshi Muni, he is accordingly now touring extensively in India and abroad in pursuit of the cultural resurgence campaign commanded by the Lord.  It clearly appears that his efforts will play a critical role in materializing the Lord’s ‘Shiv Sankalp’ on the face of the earth and the world will witness a spiritual change as a result of these efforts.

All those who read this account of the lineage and its noble mission are cordially invited to join the Fellowship and apply their lives to the Lord’s work
